How do representations of the teaching profession in popular culture compare with the professional values of teachers? Representations of teachers are found in television, film, popular music teacher science education and other forms of media. This book provides an overview of education as it appears in popular culture, together with a framework through which student teachers, teachers teacher science education and educators can interpret these representations in relation to their own professional values teacher science education and development. The framework also links the portrayal of teachers with current educational discourses expressed through policy documents teacher science education and political teacher science education and professional debate.
